World Lion Tour

We took the tour at 5pm .Nice going trough the barrio , but we went on a tour where we wished to get info from the guide. We stopped in a house of a lovely woman for coffee and the guide there explained a little bit about the history , then he showed from his paper the graffiti . We spent a lot of time sitting down where we could do the stop way short and see the graffiti with the light. We left the lady a house where was already dark Estevan the tour guide was not empathetic at all .

Cristian P was a great guide with local and personal knowledge. Spoke english well also so we could understand easily. Ended the tour at his family home where he lives in Comuna 13 and where they have a roof too bar where we were offere chicha. My only concern is finding your way back to the main road at night after the tour so be aware if taking the late tour that the guide doesnt take you back down the barrio to the main road to take a taxi or bus to get back to your destination. Also this wasnt the tour we booked and we were told we had to join this tour which was a paid one (but it actually wasnt a paid tour as at the end we were told we could pay ehat we liked). So I wouldnt book this tour again with this tour company. I think cristian works for a comoany called AIC tour (not too sure).

Please note that this is not a tip based free walking tour, the tour guide forced us to pay 85K COP for 2 people at the end of the tour. I originally gave him the amount worth for the tour, he counted the money and said “keep this to buy some souvenirs” and forced us to pay with credit card in a bar when we say we don’t have more cash. This attitude really doesn’t fit the idea of free walking tours, plus the tour was very unorganized even though the guide is from Comuna 13. We visited so few stops and half of them were whether coffee shops, dance shows that we had to tip or the bars we had to buy drinks. I took several walking tours in beautiful Medellin, this was so far the worst. No one should be pushed to pay “what is worth” of the tour. Because for me it was definitely not worthy for 85K and left a mark in my positive memories in Medellin. I’d say stay away and choose the other tours with pay amounts, at least they provide food and drinks included in the price..

We didn't expect to have such a blast during this tour. Learning more about the dark history is deeply heartbreaking, and at the same time it is so touching to see the resilience of the communa and their thirst for living now. It shows everywhere, the atmosphere was extraordinary. Our guide Samuel was very sweet and knowledgeable. This tour is a must! Viva la communa 13 ????

The tour was excellent and Samuel was exceptional. I highly recommend it.

The tour could be very interesting, but our guide was very unstructured and talked a lot about himself and asked us questions. Everything we learned could be teached us in 5 min.
