Minho Free Walking Tours owes its name to the region where it operates: Minho, the North West of Portugal. At the moment, we have tours available in the cities of Braga and Guimarães, and we only work with local guides. In that, we are the only ones who work like this. We love our region and our people!

We are also the first in the city of Braga. This company started in 2016 with 2 History teachers, and now we have a cooperative of guides, so we also do personalized tours and tours for travel agencies. We have resident professionals in our team who are linked to different areas of knowledge, such as history, urbanism, heritage, and archaeology.

“A great tour!”

Joana Almeida is an excellent guide! Very dynamic, very informative and passionate about the town. She knows all the hidden gems of Guimarães, all the interesting curiosities. I loved how she mixed culture, history and fun and connected all the facts with the myths. I had such a great time and I strongly recommend the tour with her. She is a diamond in the company.

“Guide never arrived”

After being there 20 min before, I tried to reach via message, no answer at all, and other 20 waiting, I left because the guide didn't appear at the meeting point.

“Excellent 2.5 hour tour of Braga - informative, interesting and ”

Joseph/Jose/Nicholas was an excellent guide.... his English was fantastic, as is his knowledge of Portugal and particularly Braga. The history of the city is fascinating and Jose really brought it to life. The whole tour went very quickly, helped with Jose's clear and loud voice, plus his way of explaining the very complex history of Braga. Overall a fantastic tour.... highly recommended.

“Wonderful tour and guide”

“Excellent experience ”

We had an unbeatable afternoon. The rain was not a problem. Our guide, Joana, was very enthusiastic in explaining the wonderful city of Guimaraes to us. After almost three hours, we took away a lot of information about the city, which only someone like Joana offers, because she knows and enjoys transmitting her knowledge.

“Great visit to the historical centre of Braga”

Great walk around the historical centre of Braga with Miguel. He was knowledgeable and informative, has excellent English and we really enjoyed the tour.
