Minho Free Walking Tours owes its name to the region where it operates: Minho, the North West of Portugal. At the moment, we have tours available in the cities of Braga and Guimarães, and we only work with local guides. In that, we are the only ones who work like this. We love our region and our people!

We are also the first in the city of Braga. This company started in 2016 with 2 History teachers, and now we have a cooperative of guides, so we also do personalized tours and tours for travel agencies. We have resident professionals in our team who are linked to different areas of knowledge, such as history, urbanism, heritage, and archaeology.

“An awesome tour!”

Joana Almeida is a very knowledgeable guide. I had already done the tour,, and my boyfriend really wanted to get to know Guimarães, so I took him there and Joana gave us a very dynamic, informative and fun tour. Both tours with her were amazing. I definitely recommend!

“Walking tour with Joana”

Despite being the only participant to the tour, Joana took the time to explain me everything about the history of Guimarães in detail and without rushing. She made me see a lot of new things and some hidden gems in the city. With the energy and enthousiasm she provides the info, this can only be recommended to everyone
