Overview of the tour in Colombo

Colombo is the first capital to be accredited as an International Wetland City by RAMSAR in 2018.

We have two options when it comes to the location. One is the 'Beddagana Wetland Park' and the second is the 'Diyasaru Park' within 3km radius. Located in Thalawathugoda, near the Sri Lankan Parliament, the marshlands of these Wetland Park are an enchanting natural landscape and a bird sanctuary that also happens to be an underrated public park.

This wetland park attracts many locals interested in exploring the biodiversity of flora and fauna of the park.

I will be guiding you through these urban wetlands to spot different animal species, specially Fishing Cat, Civets which can be found inside the greenery. During the tour, I will explain the history of the site, the importance of the wetlands, and the species diversity around these wetlands along with spotting beautiful wildlife and capturing their movements!

We will be meeting at the car park and using the nearby entrance gate. I will take you through the nature trails along the butterfly garden, and marshy area towards the bird-watching tower. Then we will be coming back to the starting point to finish the excursion.
