Our free tour of Cologne begins in front of the impressive train station (Köln Hauptbahnhof). From this monument we will start our walk through the old part of the city. The first stop of our free tour of Cologne will be the iconic Gothic Cathedral of St. Peter, did you know that since the Middle Ages it houses the relics of the Three Wise Men? we enter the fascinating legacy of the Roman Empire.
We will continue our free tour of Cologne visiting some traditional breweries. Then we will explore the famous Elbphilharmonie building, Cologne's famous concert hall, walking on its... roof! From there we admire the panoramic views of the Rhine River. The next stop will be at the Fischmarkt (fish market) to reach the representative Alter Markt square with the majestic Gothic tower of the Old Town Hall. We will discuss the local folklore and customs of the renowned Cologne Carnival - one of the most iconic events in all of Germany. We conclude the free tour through the historic center of Cologne in front of the Farina House, the Perfume Museum. There we will explain the origin of Eau de Cologne or Eau de Cologne.
