Ciutadella Free Tour
Overview
During the visit we will walk through the historic center of the old capital of Menorca, a city full of stately streets, charming corners, aristocratic palaces and squares steeped in history. Accompanied by a local guide, we will learn about the most important episodes that have marked the identity of Ciutadella, from its medieval past to the Turkish assault of 1558 and the current life of the city.
Throughout the tour we will discover some of the most emblematic places of Ciutadella, such as the Plaza de Alfonso III, Plaza des Born, the Cathedral of Santa Maria, Ses Voltes, the old convent of Sant Agustí, the market and several streets of the old town where the most authentic character of the city is preserved.
This tour combines history, culture, architecture, traditions and local anecdotes in a pleasant and close way. It is an ideal visit for those who come to Ciutadella for the first time and want to better understand its past, its beauty and its importance within Menorca.

On arrival
The meeting point is the Plaza de Alfonso III, also known as Plaza de las Palmeras, next to the clock.
The guide will be waiting in the square, identified as a Meloussa Tours guide. We recommend arriving 5 to 10 minutes before the start of the tour to organize the group and hand out the headphones when needed.
If you come by car, we recommend arriving in plenty of time, as parking in the center can be limited, especially in high season. A good nearby reference for parking is the Molí des Comte area and the area around the Via Perimetral.
Things to note
The tour lasts approximately 2 hours and takes place entirely on foot through the historic center of Ciutadella.
It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes, water and sun protection, especially during the summer months. The tour runs through pedestrian streets, squares and some areas with old pavement.
The free tour does not have a fixed price. At the end of the tour, each participant is free to evaluate the work of the guide with a voluntary contribution according to his or her satisfaction.
Out of respect for the rest of the group, please be punctual. In case of late arrival, it will not always be possible to join the tour once it has started.
