Chongqing Uncovered Free Tour: Streets, Stories & Culture
Overview
We’ll head to Jiefangbei Square, the buzzing heart of the city with the famous Liberation Monument. Next, wander through Shibati (Eighteen Ladders), a charming old neighborhood full of steep stone steps, narrow alleys, and traditional buildings. It’s a place where history blends with modern life, and you’ll hear all about its stories and secrets.
Bayi Food Street to taste some spicy, authentic Chongqing flavors. After that, we’ll add a bit of fun with a quick visit to a gaming arcade nearby.
The highlight is exploring a hidden tunnel behind Hongya Cave (Hongyadong), leading you to see the glowing stilt houses carved into the cliffs—a magical sight, especially when lit up at night.
We’ll finish the tour with a taxi ride to Nanbin Road, where you can soak in breathtaking views of Chongqing’s skyline and the meeting point of the Yangtze and Jialing rivers.

Arriving by Metro (乘坐地铁到达):
1. Take Line 2 of the Chongqing Metro to Linjiangmen Station (临江门站)
2. Inside the station, follow the signs to Exit 1 (1号口)
3. Once you exit, turn to your right
4. You will see the Starbucks store (星巴克咖啡店) just a few steps away
5. Look for the tour guide holding a BROWN umbrella (棕色雨伞) nearby
