Overview
Do you want to cool off against the summer heat? The Oxena Waterfalls are less than an hour from Catania, and it is the perfect place to have a bath.
We meet WITH THE CARS at the Lidl car park in Corso Indipendenza, we leave Catania and go in the direction of the town in Militello in Val di Catania.
Before reaching the town, we park the cars and start the excursion, walking along the Oxena River.
The walk is very easy and relaxing, and it is thought for the people who have A RENTED CAR, but if you need, I can pick up NO MORE THAN 3 PEOPLE IN MY CAR :)
What is incredible is the contrast that you will see between the blue water of the Oxena river and the black of the lava stone that surrounds the area (and I will tell you why!). Once we have arrived, we can enjoy the waterfalls as much as we want, having a bath and also having lunch. During the walk I will tell you:
- how Etna was born and how it has developed in the course of history;
- of Catania, its history, culture and its connections with Etna;
- of Sicily in general and all the information you need!

On arrival
We meet at 9:30 in the Supermarket Lidl Corso Indipendenza car park. In 50 minutes we will arrive to the waterfalls.
Things to note
The excursion is thought for the people who have a RENTED CAR.
I can pick up NO MORE THAN 3 PEOPLE IN MY CAR.
I advise you to bring:
- comfortable shoes, sports shoes or trekking shoes;
- 2 litres of water each;
- a cap to protect the head;
- something to snack on during the trek;
- PACKED LUNCH.
