Overview
We will meet at the Plaza del Puerto de Cartagena, next to the flag. The first thing we will see is the port itself, the hallmark of this three thousand year old city and the reason for its past and present wealth. We will continue walking along the sea until we reach the area of the Naval Museum, where the prototype of Isaac Peral's submarine is located. From there we will walk to the Plaza Héroes de Cavite and then to the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, with its masterful Palacio Consistorial, one of the jewels of modernism in the city.
Then, we will go into the historic center of the city towards its main monument: the Roman Theater. We will continue walking towards the bowels of the city, discovering some of the busiest places of this city, such as the Plaza San Francisco, a key place of gastronomy and leisure in Cartagena.
From the Plaza San Francisco we will access the Roman Forum neighborhood, where we will have the opportunity to climb up to the Cerro del Molinete to enjoy both its views and the Archaeological Park that is located there. We end our free tour of Cartagena next to one of the emblematic buildings of the city: the Gran Hotel.
