Overview
Join me for a tour of the Buda Castle District!
We’ll start at Magdolna Tower.
After a brief overview of Hungary’s rich history, we’ll head to Holy Trinity Square, where I’ll tell you about the column of the same name. And, most importantly, about Matthias Church. Then, we’ll continue on to the Fishermen’s Bastion, where the statue of St Stephen stands. I’ll take you to a little spot on the Bastion where we’ll have a magnificent view of the city.
We’ll continue on our way with a stop at the foot of the Hussar Statue, then on to St George’s Square, and finally to the palace. I’ll tell you about the Mathias Fountain and Prince Eugene of Savoy, before we finish our tour at the foot of the Turul statue.
The tour takes place outdoors, so please dress appropriately for the weather. It can be very hot in summer and very cold in winter!
Practical tip: you can easily reach the Magdolna Tower with the bus 16 or 16A. Stop: Kapisztran Ter
