Free Tour of Brescia's Squares
Overview
- Piazza del Foro: the heart of Roman Brixia. Here lies the most important archaeological site in northern Italy, dominated by the Capitolium and the ruins of the ancient Roman Theater and the civil basilica.
- Piazza Paolo VI or Piazza del Duomo: This is the city’s religious and medieval center. It is home to the ancient Duomo Vecchio (or Rotonda, a rare example of a circular Romanesque church) and the massive Duomo Nuovo.
- Piazza della Loggia: A splendid Renaissance gem with a Venetian influence. It is dominated by the palace of the same name and the Clock Tower, whose famous automatons strike the hours.
- Piazza Vittoria: Designed by architect Marcello Piacentini in the 1930s, it is a masterpiece of Italian Rationalism. It features strict geometric forms and is home to the Torrione, considered one of the first skyscrapers built in Italy.

Our Guides
On arrival
Piazzale Arnaldo is easily accessible by car: there are several parking lots (both paid and free) near the square.
We’ll meet in front of the statue of Arnaldo, and that’s where we’ll start the tour.
Things to note
Since this is a walking tour, anyone can participate. We won’t be entering any buildings, but I recommend that anyone with limited mobility and/or difficulty walking let me know.
In addition, the tour can be done in a wheelchair or with a stroller, but the city’s sidewalks and streets aren’t all level; here too, if you let me know in advance, I can plan the best route.
Cancellation policy
You are free to cancel a booking anytime. We kindly remind you to cancel bookings you cannot arrive for. Being reported as absent decreases your customer level points and the benefits you can enjoy.
