Overview
We find ourselves in front of this impressive mural created by Jon Jones, depicting the Shelby family. This mural, located here, next to New Street Station, is a symbol of how the series has transformed the image of Birmingham around the world.
We will walk through the Picadilly Gallery, a place that combines contemporary art and tradition, reflecting the mix of past and present that characterizes both Birmingham and the series. Next, we will walk along historic Edmund Street, where Victorian architecture transports us back to the industrial era that was the setting for the rise of bands like the Peaky Blinders.
The World Wars Memorial opens the door to Birmingham's iconic canals, used by the Peaky Blinders, fictional and real, for their smuggling and shady dealings.
Today, we will walk between history and myth, between the real places where the band emerged and the scenarios that made the Shelby family famous. So, without further ado, let's begin our journey on the order of the Peaky Blinders!
