Overview
Although little known, Belfast remains a divided city. A 25km wall separates two neighbouring religious communities, covered with murals that tell their social, political and cultural history. We visit the Falls Road, where the desire to join Ireland is felt, and cross the electronic gates of the so-called ‘Check Point Charlie’ to the Shankill Road, a symbol of those who want to remain part of the United Kingdom.
This is the only political tour in English in Belfast, created together with former political prisoners from both communities. At Yellow Umbrella Tours we don't just tell the story, we hear it from those who lived it. Our spanish speakers guides don't repeat books; they share real experiences.
Trained in direct collaboration with local groups, we offer a powerful, balanced and humane view of the conflict. We walk the streets where history was made and support community initiatives such as youth tournaments and mental health programmes.
Walk with us and hear the voices that the history books omit.
