Overview

At the scheduled time, we’ll set off down Avinguda del Paral-lel to begin our self-guided tour of Montjuïc, where we’ll explore the history and facilities associated with the 1929 Barcelona International Exposition and the 1992 Olympic Games. Are you ready? Let’s go! We’ll start at Plaça Espanya, where we’ll begin our ascent by taking the escalators up to the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc.

Here we’ll learn about its history before continuing on to the National Art Museum of Catalonia, where we’ll tell you about the 1929 Expo. From there, we’ll continue our walk to the ’92 Olympic Ring and the stadium where FC Barcelona currently plays. We’ll then head to the Montjuïc Municipal Swimming Pools, a iconic photo spot in the city during the Olympics.

We’ll continue climbing toward Montjuïc Castle. In this final part of the tour, the incline will be steeper, but don’t worry—we’ll make two stops: the first at the Joan Brossa Gardens and the second at the Mirador de l’Alcalde, where we’ll admire one of the best views of the city. We’ll wrap up the tour in front of Montjuïc Castle after a two-and-a-half-hour tour.
