Overview of the tour in Aviles

Avilés preserves a historic center that surprises those who visit it. Its origins date back to the Middle Ages, when it received the charter that elevated the population to the category of town and built a defensive wall, today almost completely disappeared.

In this visit we will walk through the center of Avilés, with its typical arcades, along with the neighborhood of Sabugo, the only neighborhood outside the walls that existed in the Middle Ages in the town. We will learn about its history, the most emblematic places and buildings, and its transformation over time due to its settlement in the 11th century and its port activity.

It is the only tour with regular frequencies that offers a visit to the interior of the chapel of Las Alas, the 14th century proto-Gothic jewel of Avilés.

This activity includes:

  • Chapel of the Alas
  • Barrio de Sabugo
  • Guía oficial en español
