Join us for an unforgettable walking tour through Aveiro, an actual open-air museum.
Our journey begins at Praça da República, where we’ll encounter a rich blend of architectural styles, from the 17th century to the 20th century.
Our walk also takes us back in time, as we trace the path of Aveiro’s old city walls. Unfortunatly nothing remains of the old walls but we'll follow their path and stop at key locations where they once stood. To help bring the past to life, I’ll share vintage photographs, giving you a glimpse into how the city has evolved over the centuries.
As we stroll through the city’s streets and canals, we’ll explore one of Aveiro’s most captivating features: its Art Nouveau architecture. Known elsewhere as Moderne Style, Jugendstil, Liberty, or Secession, this elegant style is characterized by flowing, sinuous lines, floral and plant-inspired motifs, graceful ironwork, and colorful tiles.
