Free Historic Architecture Tour of Downtown Austin
Overview
Around Capitol Square, you’ll see everything from 1850s limestone government buildings to the more ambitious designs of the early 1900s. A few blocks away on quiet residential streets, Victorian homes and early neighborhoods hide where most visitors never explore. We also visit the commercial district, where old storefronts and modern towers sit side-by-side, and you can read the city’s changing identity in the architecture.
The route is about 1.5 miles and takes roughly 2 hours. It’s a steady, active pace and not wheelchair or stroller accessible, so please keep that in mind before booking.
