welcome to the Alcalá World Heritage Tour!
My name is David Alba, Certified Guide and Graduate in Tourism from the University of Alcalá de Henares (UAH). With this tour you will be able to understand a city that has a history of more than 2 millennia. You will learn the ins and outs of what is the first University City in the World, what was the Alcalá of the 3 Cultures and the birthplace of Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra.
We will start at the Arco de San Bernardo, the least transited place in the center, and we will see all the main tourist attractions from less to more, until we get to the University being the most important. At the end of the tour, we will go through everything as if it were a good novel, full of curiosities and fun explanations ;)
We will visit the exterior (We enter the Oidor Chapel except in the 19:00 summer group):
- Archbishop's Palace
- Cathedral Magistral de los Santos Niños
- Main Street
- Cervantes Birthplace Museum
- Cervantes Square
- Chapel of the Oidor (We will see the Baptismal Certificate of Cervantes)
- Old University of Alcalá
and much more! (With a game at the end, we'll see what happens to whoever wins)
