Overview of the tour in Accra
There are a lot of tourists who wish to visit a local market and buy some stuff for themselves while in Ghana.
Makola Market in the heart of Accra offers a variety of products both local and exotic that may interest tourist. It is the largest in Accra and offers a beautiful old architectural structures. This is where both new and second hand used clothing are brought before people come to buy them to resell in their boutiques and shops. It is close to some tourist sites such as Jamestown fishing village, National Theatre, Kwame Nkrumah Museum and Independence Square.
Trading activities here feels exciting, seeing the crowd moving in all directions with each one trying to find what he or she came to buy.
Start at Tudu, a line of old story buildings where brand-new clothes are wholesales, visit Kantamanto where imported second clothing are sold at wholesale and retail prices. We will enter Okaishie where the women vendors stands on the busy streets to sell their products.
Continue to the African fabric and textiles shops.
Finish at the Rawlings Park, a well maintained car park for both traders and visitors to the market.
