Royal & Communist Warsaw Free Tour
Overview
2in1 tour, ideal as the introduction to Warsaw. The first half of the tour covers the Royal Route, which is the most elegant Warsaw street. Here in the 17th and 18th century wealthy noblemen were building their luxurious residences, powerful religious orders were erecting their baroque churches, here in the 19th century Chopin lived, and Marie Curie was studying.
In the second half of the tour you will explore the 20th-century city center, reshaped by communist architects and urban planners, with the most iconic Warsaw building: the Palace of Culture, the famous gift from Stalin to the People's Republic of Poland, aimed to give Warsaw the new communist identity.
This activity includes:
- Castle Square, Warsaw
- Presidential Palace, Warsaw
- Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
- University of Warsaw
- Holy Cross Church
- Palace of Culture and Science

Things to note
LATE ARRIVAL
Please note that every guide does a 15-minute introduction at the starting point, so if you are going to be a few minutes late, just head to Castle Square and look for a group with a guide holding an orange umbrella. If you are going to be 20–40 minutes late, head to the Church of Saint Ann and wait for the group in front of the church. Please don't message/call us, as the guide will be busy guiding and won't be able to respond.
CASH AND CARD PAYMENTS
Our guides accept payments in cash (PLN, EUR, USD, GBP) and most of us can also process card payments.
BAD WEATHER
We never cancel tours due to bad weather. In case of rain or intense sunlight an umbrella might be useful (you can buy a cheap one in the Rossmann store in the Old Town in st. Senatorska 2).
