Overview
The tour is divided into two parts, the first one lasts 30/35 minutes on foot, it crosses part of the Ushuaia forest and allows to know a bit of history of the city, since the train of the prisoners used to pass through there, until 1949, cutting and transporting firewood to supply the city and the Presidio. Also, you can appreciate the surrounding and nearby nature of the place, with abundant vegetation: lengas, willows and several other species of trees, bushes and wild plants. You can see or hear some species of birds and sometimes some foxes. It is a very peaceful place to walk, with clean and fresh air, without disturbing noises.
The second part of the journey takes 30 minutes and goes to the meeting point, but returning through quiet neighborhoods, seeing other points of interest: Monte Susana, Beagle Channel, Port of Ushuaia.
I recommend wearing warm clothes and waterproof footwear, as there may be puddles of water and mud. In every season of the year, this road has its charm, which makes it a very photographable place. Motorcycles, scooters, cars, etc. The highlight of the walk is that you can still see some of the sleepers of the small train tracks!
