Harry's Free Tour of Toulouse
Overview
I've lived here 20 years now and have spent quite a lot of that time trying to write an Historical Fiction of this city. What does that mean for you? It means I've studied its History with a passion and have always regarded its Historical events through the lens of "How could this event best be told in narrative form?" Which is what I do. I tell stories. True stories of things that actually happened here in Toulouse. But stories, nevertheless.
On this Tour you will see…
Place du Capitole
Rue Saint Rome
Hotel Assezat
Pont Neuf
La Daurade and la Basilique
Les Jacobins
Rue de Taur
La Basilica St Sernin
And, although the History stuff does tend to wander I try to make its telling as linear as possible.
I will cover…
Medieval Toulouse
The Cathars
The Albigensian Crusade
The Inquisition
The Canal du Midi
The Revolution in Toulouse
The Great Flood of 1875
and a lot more…
I won't leave you ignorant either as to where is best to eat and drink in town and what other things there are to do.
I look forward to seeing you on the Tour.

Welcome to Toulouse!
One last thing. I see that FreeTour has dropped the note for minimum attendees for the Tour to go ahead. On a sunny day the number for this tour is 6. On a rainy day its 8 (because people often don't show when it rains). If there's less people than this booked by 6pm the night before then I cancel the tour. Believe me, you wouldn't want to do the tour with less people, it's no fun, theres no magic' in it and I wind up feeling more like a Valet than a guide. You deserve better, the city deserves a better presentation AND financially it makes no sense for me, so there ya go. Usually this isn't a problem. But sometimes, especially when I big group decides to cancel the day before - leaving no time for me to make up the numbers, it can be. Sry. H
