Trip to Tsarskoe Selo
Overview of the tour in St Petersburg
The Catherine Palace is located in the suburb of Pushkin near St. Petersburg, in the former Tsar's village (Tsarskoe Selo).
The first chateau was built for the future wife of Peter the 1st, Catherine I, and then completely rebuilt in the Russian Baroque style for his daughter Elisaveta Petrovna in the middle of the 18th century. Its palace, with its many gilded carvings, mirrors and stucco decorations, was considered the largest and richest summer palace in Europe.
During the tour of the palace, you will pass the magnificent Golden Gala Suite, where balls and gala receptions have taken place. Of course, you will look into the most famous and unique room, the Amber Room.
