Overview
We start our walk in the heart of Porto, where monumental architecture and urban energy meet. We continue down towards São Bento Station, famous for its tile panels that tell episodes from the history of Portugal, a true gateway to the soul of Porto. From here, we pass the Porto Cathedral and the upper deck of the D. Luís I Bridge, which, from above, offers superb views over the houses and the Douro River.
We walk through the narrow streets that wind through the Historic Center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We descend towards Ribeira, perhaps Porto's most picturesque area, where colorful balconies, lively alleyways and the proximity to the water create a unique setting. When we reach the Ribeira, we find ourselves in front of the majestic Luís I Bridge, one of the city's major landmarks. It is in this vibrant environment that our walking tour ends, but only to begin a new perspective of the city.
We embark on a cruise of the bridges, sailing peacefully along the Douro. Along the way, we pass under the six bridges that connect Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, while observing the sloping houses and historic wine cellars.
