Free Tour: The Oil Region of the Patagonian Desert
Overview
You will also learn about the vestiges of the English railway engineering that supported the oil development in the middle of the "Patagonian desert".
I will explain how the search for the precious "black gold" shaped the social identity of Cutral Có and Plaza Huincul, giving rise to the current oil region. All this in an extreme environment: the Patagonian mountain, a region with no initial infrastructure, harsh climate and scarcity of water for workers and machines. A unique experience to understand how engineering, architecture and human perseverance transformed this territory.

The meeting point is at the entrance to the town of Plaza Huincul, National Route No. 22, on the right bank.
