Overview of the tour in Kandy

Visit the second most ancient kingdom of Sri Lanka. A site with enormous Buddha sculptures, stupas and rich in history and architecture. The irrigation systems that are far superior to that of the Anuradhapura Age and to this day supply the water essential for paddy cultivation. The toque macaque, which is the breed of monkeys living in the ruins have been thriving in this kingdom for centuries. They were featured in the Disney’s nature film entitled Monkey Kingdom.
SAFARI: Minneriya National Park was originally declared as a wildlife sanctuary so as to protect the catchment of Minneriya tank and the wildlife of the surrounding area.
WATHADAGAE: Watadage is a type of Buddhist structure that is more or less unique to the architecture of ancient Sri Lanka that may have some Indian influence. Watadages were built around small stupas for its protection.
ATADAGE: Atadage Dalada Maligaya was built by King Vijayabahu I (1070-1110). This is where the sacred tooth relic of Buddha was housed previously. The building is built on 54 stone pillars and the tooth relic was kept on the second floor.
THE GAL VIHARAYA, is a rock temple situated in the ancient city of Polonnaruwa.
