Walking tour of Moinho das Estrelas

Explore the Barrocal Algarvio with this walk that takes you to Santa Bárbara de Nexe and the Moinho das Estrelas, near Goldra. It's a simple route, but it reveals a lot about the lesser-known Algarve. This route crosses rural paths and hills of the barrocal, offering a clear reading of the transition between the interior and the coast.

At the start of the route, the environment is marked by stone walls, almond, carob and fig trees, but as you go along, the terrain gradually rises, gradually opening up the horizon to the south. On clear days, the blue of the Atlantic begins to stand out, creating a striking contrast with the warm tones of the surrounding landscape.

The Goldra Geodesic Mark marks the highest point on the walk, both in terms of altitude and visual impact. It's an ideal place to pause and contemplate, where the wind and silence reinforce the feeling of space and freedom. This walk is perfect for those looking for accessible routes, wide landscapes and an authentic experience in the inland Algarve, but close to the hustle and bustle of the cities.
