The Contrasts of Copenhagen: The Vesterbro Neighborhood
Overview
The Vesterbro Free Tour starts at Espresso House Rådhuspladsen and ends in the Meatpacking District. You’ll discover a Copenhagen very different from the historic center and far from the most popular attractions; during the tour, you’ll hear stories of a completely different world that challenges social, political, and cultural norms.
We’ll take you to explore Copenhagen’s underground scene as we stroll through Vesterbro’s red-light district.
You’ll learn why this neighborhood has become home to many young artists and entrepreneurs, and you’ll get a glimpse of the eclectic mix of residents in the area following recent renovations. You’ll walk down Istedgade Street, and we’ll take you to Kødbyen, where you’ll find trendy shops, bars, and cafés that delight hipsters. Join us to discover a different and exciting side of Copenhagen!
