Overview
Together, we'll plunge into the history of an ordinary town on the banks of the Loire which, against all odds, became the capital of the kingdom of France! Blois has been the stuff of dreams for travelers ever since, with its Renaissance-style mansions, its magnificent bishop's palace overlooking the river and its splendid, multi-faceted chateau royal! I'll tell you stories of the colorful inhabitants who have left their mark on French history - Louis XII, François I, Henri III, Catherine de Médicis, Denis Papin, Victor-Auguste Poulin - and many other remarkable guests of the last 500 years who have left their mark on the Loire town!
We'll walk through Blois' famous medieval streets, surrounded by timber-framed houses dating back over 500 years. We'll admire the royal river and relive its century-old floods. We'll follow in the footsteps of a mysterious figure who blessed his standard in Blois, before hitting the road again to leave his mark on French history forever!
I'll be with you for 1h30, and the tour is available in French, English or Spanish.
