Overview of the tour in Athens

The meeting point for the artisanal Athens activity will be at 9:20 in the morning in Avdi Square and after talking a little about the professions in Ancient Greece we will begin the route for our activities.

Firstly, we will visit a ceramics workshop where, after talking about the role of ceramics in Ancient Greece, ways of working and materials from that time, we will make a type of tray or other type of object based on some traditional design. Finally we will receive our gifts which are "single cappuccino cups".

Next, we will visit a komboloi manufacturing workshop in the Psyri neighborhood. The komboloi is a symbol of Greek culture. In this workshop, after talking a little about the history of komboloi, each person will make their own rope of amber beads and then take it with them.

After passing through the Flea Market, our last stop will be at a shoe workshop that has been operating since 1920, where we will see how sandals are made inspired by ancient Greek designs, but based on the needs of people in modern society.
