Overview of the tour in Wroclaw

History of Jewish community in Wrocław is almost as old as the capital of Silesia. It had a huge impact on Judaism, especially its liberal branch. It wouldn't be possible to describe modern Judaism without mentioning Abraham Geiger od Zacharias Frankel, both of whom lived in Wrocław. Join our Free Walking Tour to hear this fascinating, 800 years long story, full of charm, wisdom and pursue happier balance and identity.

During the tour we will see first places, where Jewish people lived, we will discover why they were banned from the city in late Middle Ages and how smart was the method they used to return to the capital of Silesia.

We will make a trip around the Jewish quarter, that is now famous as “Quarter of four denominations”, to see how this district emerged from a suburb to the most popular neighbourhood in Wrocław. We shall talk about heroes and villains, rejected love as well as patriotism. If you would like to know, how many Jews became heroes in the German army, why Jews were banned from the city in Middle Ages, hear the story of a Jew who invented Cyclon B or the bravest insurgent of II world war, who volunteered to Auschwitz, you cannot miss our FREE walking TOUR!

Please note that our free tours are designed for individual travellers and small private groups only. Hence, we do not accept parties of 8 or more people on regular free tours and guides have the right to deny participation to such groups. If you travel to a party of 8 or more, please book a private tour in advance.

If you show up at the meeting point with the bigger group, our guide will ask you for the payment (10 euro/person) before the tour or cancel your reservation on the spot. To confirm your reservation, please arrive 10 minutes before starting. We can not guarantee participation when you will be late.

Please note that multiply bookings (under different names) for 7 people who belong to one group will still be treated as one organized group and the guide has the right to deny participation to such parties.
