Overview of the tour in Oviedo

The Cathedral of Oviedo is the core of the historical center of the city and the beginning of all its paths. Inside, we will travel through eight centuries of Asturian history.

We will meet at the door of the temple to enter the Central Nave, whose stained glass windows had to be restored several times. Today its north rose window is preserved. We will cross the Cloister to visit the Chapter House, which was the seat of the former General Assembly of the Principality.

We will visit the Holy Chamber, a World Heritage Site. Here are preserved relics from the Holy Land, as well as the Victoria Cross, the Holy Shroud, the Cross of the Angels and the Box of Agates. The monument is also the origin of the Primitive Way since the time of Alfonso II the Chaste, so the Cathedral of Oviedo came to be considered the starting point of many pilgrims.

When leaving its interior, we will stop next to the portico. This is directly related to the towers that had been projected, of which only one ended up seeing the light.
