Overview of the tour in Lake District

Kendal, known as 'The Gateway to the Lakes' and to locals as the 'Auld Grey Town' (due to being mostly built of traditional limestone), was named the 'Happiest Place to Live' in the North West in 2023 (Rightmove). I live & work in Kendal, and love this beautiful area.

I'll share with you everything l have learnt and love about Kendal & its surrounding countryside, including my favourite:
- Walks in the town & beyond
- Places to visit, eat & drink
- Events & festivals

We'll walk by the River Kent, share some history past & present, and see the beautiful views from Castle Howe.

My dad is a dairy & sheep farmer in South Lakeland, so I'll also share my experiences of town & country life and how farming has shaped our landscape.

This tour is the first section of the 2 1/2 hour walk, so it's a great option if you'd just like a short introduction to the area & would like to ask a local for recommendations to help plan your stay.

We'll be meeting near Kendal's Coat of Arms, by the information board in the photo attached. This is by Nether Bridge and opposite Youdells Art Shop.
