Overview
IMPORTANT: This visit is conducted by an archaeologist with 20 years of international experience in archaeological sites.
The number 1 guided tours (based on public reviews written daily on Google and TripAdvisor) led by professional freelance guides with over 15 years of international experience, history graduates, with official guide licences, and residents in the heart of the city of Alcalá de Henares.
The Roman city of Complutum is one of the star archaeological sites of the Community of Madrid; with almost 50 hectares of extension, it is located a few minutes' walk from the historic center of the current Alcalá de Henares.
Our tour will take you through the orthogonal layout of its centuries-old streets to know its origins and the first human settlements in the Vega del Río Henares until its last moments of life before the definitive abandonment of the city, back in the s. VII AD.
We will visit the remains of all the imposing public buildings that were built around the Imperial Forum, including the hidden gem of La Casa de los Grifos, unique in Spain, and the new Antiquarium Museum.
