Overview
We will meet at the indicated time next to the entrance to the Aljafería Palace, which was the seat of the Court of the Holy Inquisition in Zaragoza. Undoubtedly, the perfect place to start learning about the origins of the "black legend".
We will continue to the Palace of Villahermosa walking along the street of the Preachers, and admire its clear baroque style of the seventeenth century.
Next, we will visit the Central Market of Zaragoza. You may wonder what is its relationship with the times of the Inquisition. We will stop to talk about it while we contemplate the combination of stone, iron and glass of its architecture.
The history of the Inquisition in Zaragoza is so extensive that it will take us now to the exterior of the Goya Museum. This museum houses engravings that Francisco de Goya created as a form of criticism of the Holy Inquisition. Afterwards, we will move on to the Palacio de la Real Maestranza de Caballería (This place we will see only from the outside) and the arch of the Dean.
We will make our last stop at the Plaza de la Seo, a key historical enclave of the Aragonese capital. We will say goodbye at this point after two hours from the beginning of the free tour.
